Grilled Pizza- Get Your Grills Ready!!

We discovered this recipe two summers ago, and cannot get enough!  This pizza is better than the chain restaurants; it has a crispy crust, the sauce tastes so fresh, and it's fun to make.  I make the pizza dough in my breadmaker, but you can always substitute with store bought pizza dough.

Pizza dough
Makes: 2 large  Time: 45 mins

1 tsp dry yeast
3 3/8 cups bread flour
1 TBSP milk powder
1 3/4 TBSP sugar
1 tsp salt
1 TBSP butter
1 1/2 cups water

When the bread machine is done with it's cycle take the dough out and place in a large glass bowl that is sprayed on the inside with nonstick spray.  Cover with a dishtowel and let rise at least 10 mins.  Punch it down and repeat.  When your ready to grill your pizza divide the dough into 2 balls and roll out your pizza crusts.

Brush each pizza crust with extra virgin olive oil on each side.

Pizza Sauce (this is so easy)

Take your blender, dump in 1 large can of whole tomatoes (don't put in all the juice), a handful of fresh basil, salt/pepper, and a shake of hot red pepper flakes.  Blend until smooth.  That's it!

Preheat Grill to med-low heat, spray with nonstick grill spray.  Throw on your crust and close the lid.

3-5 minutes later check to see if it's ready to flip.

After you flip to the other side, build your pizza.

Put whatever toppings you like, I suggest pepperoni, green pepper, and onion....mmm.

Then close the lid for another 3-5 mins.
